LEM3

The LEM3 is a Joint Research Université de Lorraine - UMR 7239 CNRS - Arts et Métiers ParisTech, mainly attached to the Institute of Sciences of Engineering and Systems (INSIS) CNRS. The fields of activity of LEM3 concern Materials, Mechanics, the study of Microstructures and Processes. LEM3 is at the level of the best international teams on many subjects, in particular: plastic and thermoplastic instabilities, phase transformations, characterization and evolution microstructure and texture under thermomechanical treatments, intelligent materials, multi-scale modeling, self-organization of crystalline defects, surface integrity obtained by mechanical processes, dynamic behavior of materials, engineering for health, high-speed machining, buckling and vibration structures, dynamics of materials behavior, micromechanical modeling, numerical methods.

The University of the Greater Region is a network of six universities (the University of Kaiserslautern, the University of Liège, the University of Lorraine, the University of Luxembourg, Saarland University and Trier University), which are located on the cross-border area of the Greater Region (Germany - Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland; Belgium - Wallonia, French and German communities of Belgium; France – Grand-Est Region (Lorraine), Grand Duchy of Luxembourg).
